THE MATERIAL
A different
material entirely
Most alternate stone tile is either ceramic with a photograph printed on it, or molded plastic dirivatives. Slate-ish is something else. Each piece is cut from reclaimed paper-resin composite and split by hand - creating genuine depth and texture no digital print can replicate.

Slate-ish is made to order. Lead times are typically 4-8 business days, plus transit time via UPS Ground.

THE STORY
Made from what others
throw away.
In 2008, a dropped scrap of countertop composite gave Josh and Jen an idea: what if fabricators’ offcuts - the sink cutouts, awkward shapes, pieces too small to use - could become something beautiful instead of going to the landfill?
Sixteen years later, Slate-ish is still made in Lincoln, Nebraska, still from 100% reclaimed material, and still treated with the same hands-on care that made the first piece worth keeping.
