Product Details / Technical Specs

Slate-ish is made from paper-laminate composite materials. These solid core laminates are made from layers of paper and resin, which is heated and pressed. These materials are normally used for countertop applications in residential and commercial projects, and anything from skate board ramps to bathroom partitions.
We source scrap material from manufacturers and fabricators to make Slate-ish. The sink cutouts, awkward shapes, or pieces that are too small to be used in normal applications become useful as our raw material.
A note on the"back" of Slate-ish tile: Because we take in reclaimed material that comes in cut-up sheets, there is sometimes a surface to Slate-ish that is the former "face" of the reclaimed sheets! This former "face" becomes the BACK of our tile! This can be any color, patterned, or even wood grain print, and is smooth to the touch. It does not affect the look or performance of the tile, and is meant to be hidden.

Loose Pieces - which means you receive a box that has individual tile pieces.
We recommend Clear 100% Silicone adhesive (sold at your local hardware store) for installation.
Our Loose Tiles are best for small projects, and offer the most flexibility for tight spaces. Tiles can even be overlapped during installation, eliminating the need for cutting!

Peel & Stick - gives you a mess-free, super fast installation.
We apply 2 rows of Standard size tile or a single XL tile to a double-sided acrylic foam adhesive. This adhesive covers the center 1.75” of the panel or tile, and leaves part of the back of the panel bare so they can be placed at an angle out from the wall on the row below. This allows placement of the panel without it sticking before you are ready.
The adhesive tape has excellent quick-stick adhesion with high shear properties for secure bonding. Adheres well to textured and irregular surfaces. High temperature resistance.

Suitable Applications:
